Here's the thing about advice - you get it freely and you can't stop yourself from giving it freely either!! Finally a beautiful example of 'give and take'!! So this one time a friend of mine offers me advice ( I told u freely given) just like that and then goes on to ask me if I have any advice for him so as to return the favor. Wow, the opportunity to look like a wise old owl and I had nothing to offer - absolutely nothing came to my mind! And I told him I got nothing to say, sorry. He goes on to tell me c'mon Sheens you've got to give me something. And so I tell him there's no point in me just giving you advice out of the blue, especially if it ain't relevant for the situation which is similar to advice falling on deaf ears which I think is equivalent to giving no advice at all.
